Find a counsellor

All of the counsellors who work at Counselling Rooms are fully qualified, insured, in regular supervision and working to high ethical standards. We require that all our counsellors and psychotherapists are members of a reputable professional body, which provides clients with peace of mind that they are accountable for the quality of their work.

We do not recommend specific therapists but instead encourage potential clients to browse and use our search function below to find the person who is the best match for you and the issues that you would like to work with. It is also possible to search via the day or times you are available to find a good match. Once you have shortlisted a few possibilities we recommend that you contact the counsellors/therapists directly and discuss your needs further. Many will offer a free initial session  to allow you a chance to do this without obligation. The best therapeutic outcomes happen when the person feels comfortable with their therapist, and it can be helpful to bear this in mind when choosing who to work with.

I am a compassionate therapist and provide a space where you can feel safe and accepted and can speak freely without fear of judgement. I have experience of providing counselling in the NHS and voluntary sector.
Neurodivergent affirmative, Trauma-informed Clinical Counsellor & Supervisor
I work with psychotherapy trainees and students, as well as with people seeking help for anxiety, depression, psychological aspects of living with chronic pain and with self-esteem or confidence difficulties.
Psychodynamic counselling can help us to look at our distress in a safe space with an other. Doing this with a counsellor allows us to have the distress held so that we can start to think about how things really are for us.
I use person-centred, transpersonal, psychodynamic and existential approaches according to the client’s needs. I enjoy working creatively, where appropriate, using visualisations, dream work, creative imagination, body work and art to access clients' inner wisdom.
I understand that life can be busy, so I offer appointments on a Saturday morning, making it easier for you to fit counselling into your schedule. I also offer affordable rates, so you don't have to worry about breaking the bank.
I am a neurodivergent counsellor who specialises in working with autistic and/or ADHD adults. Whether you are self-identified, officially diagnosed or just discovering the possibility of your neurodivergence, you are welcome to explore what this means to you now and how it has impacted your life so far.
I am a counsellor, supervisor and coach with extensive experience providing both long term and time-limited therapy in the NHS, charity sector, and private practice.
I am friendly and warm Psychotherapist, with over 16 years experience in the role. I provide a safe space where you can talk in confidence about difficult emotional issues.
I believe that challenges are inevitable over the course of a life, and it can be useful to seek support rather than suffer alone. Therapy is a unique opportunity for you to understand your relationship patterns and liberate yourself from behaviours that are no longer serving you. In my practice I will gently encourage you to bring your whole self into the room, even those parts that might feel messy, scared or confused.
I am a BACP registered counsellor offering individual counselling for adults from an established shared practice in Chorlton, South Manchester. I also work online using Zoom.
Whatever you are going through now, or have been experiencing I want to talk to you about what you want from our sessions.
I bring to my practice a calm and genuine warmth and will listen to your feelings in a non-judgemental way. I'll respond to your needs with compassion, respect and empathy, and will use a holistic approach to help you work through your problem to better understand yourself.
The relationship you have with your counsellor is really important so take your time to find someone you get on with and trust. I’m my down-to-earth, calm and genuine self in the counselling room and encourage you to be yourself too. I work with adults, young people and children. Please get in touch for a free 20 minute phone consultation.
I am a BACP Accredited therapist, with experience working for the NHS, in the voluntary sector and in private practice - supporting people who have experienced trauma including childhood abuse, domestic violence, sexual assault, including working with PTSD.
I provide a non-judgmental, safe, and supportive environment that is client centred, which means that we work collaboratively in a way that works for you.
I combine Person Centred counselling, which allows you to reflect and process what is going on for you, with CBT and coaching to help you develop strategies for positive change that you can use for the rest of your life.
